The 2002 Equity Markets Report
analysed the performance of stockbrokers & investment banks
active in the Australian markets utilising feedback from corporate
and institutional respondents. Over 100 corporate respondents
and 40 fund managers were contacted and requested to rank performance
at the individual and firm level for the relevant participants
in the equity markets in Australia.
Each of the Equity Markets Report
Sectors provides ratings of the individuals and houses they work
for, across various categories such as breadth & depth of
research, corporate introductions, overall research quality,
etc.
In 2002 the sectors have been
translated into GICS compatible industries, whilst still matching
the predominant analyst coverages' applicable in Australia. In
all there are 18 industrial sectors, 4 resources sectors, 4 macro
sectors, 5 dealing sectors and 1 Equity Capital Markets sector.

YEAR 2000 RESEARCH
East Coles conducted three Reports
in the Year 2000 - the Equities Research & Dealing Report,
the Treasury Markets Report & the Corporate Advisory Report.
These Reports analysed the performance of the service & product
providers in the relevant markets in Australia, at the firm and
individual level. Key performance criteria were applied across
the services and products provided, and the data broken down
by product lines and service categories.
The aim of the East Coles Financial Research Products is to provide
meaningful feedback to subscribers on their performance across
the various performance criteria analysed through the eyes of
their clients, in this way promoting market efficiency.
